A miniature universe in motion

This Cirque du Soleil show is an immersive celebration of movement, color, music and acrobatic artistry

Cirque du Soleil is back in town! The world-renowned Canadian nouveau cirque company, famous for turning the circus into a theatrical spectacle of acrobatics, dance, music, and striking visuals, returns with a reinterpretation of one of its most beloved productions. Meaning “egg” in Portuguese, OVO was originally created 15 years ago, quickly becoming an international success. The show, on from April 2–5 at the Palazzo dello Sport, is centered on the theme of insects, now revisited to feature refreshed staging features, updated visuals, additional acts, and redesigned costumes and music, while preserving the playful spirit that made the original so memorable. More than 50 artists, acrobats, and musicians bring this miniature world to life through unforgettable insect characters, including a curious ladybug, a quick-witted fly, and a hungry beetle. Performers combine daring aerial feats with intricate choreography and live music, for an immersive experience. At the heart of the story is the gentle romance between a shy insect and a radiant ladybug, set within the lively rhythms of an insect community. The show invites audiences to embrace life’s smallest details and to see the world from a new perspective and the title, represented by an imposing inflatable structure that dominates the opening scene, symbolizes birth, continuity, and the eternal cycle of life within an extraordinarily rich and lively universe.
