n Rome, numbers are never just numbers. And none carries more weight than seven—woven into the city’s mythology, religion and identity since its earliest days. This powerful, symbolic number echoes through the history of Rome ever since its mythical beginnings. Seven were the fateful hills upon which the Eternal City was founded (and even April 21st, the day of its birth, is a multiple of 7). Seven, too, were the kings who ruled in succession before the Republic took hold.
